ABOUT
A former wine estate located 18 kilometers from Saint Emilion and its prestigious vineyards, Domaine de Rateau is only 40 km from Bordeaux, easily accessible by road or train.
Charming house with two hectares of park with hundred-year-old trees, swimming pool of 7 meters by 15, and four comfortable rooms renovated with taste, Rateau is a peaceful and restful place, where you will be received in the rules of the art of French hospitality.
Guests benefit from a refined and cozy double living room, which overlooks the park, with a beautiful terrace, library, television and board games. Winter weekends by the fire are very popular here!
In summer, the Ping Pong table is set up in the park.
Upon reservation, Emmanuelle Hardouin Duparc will welcome you to her table d'hôtes where you can enjoy seasonal products, accompanied by Bordeaux wines ... We offer a limited but representative menu of the vineyards of the region.
For safety reasons (small pond, electric fences, proximity to horses), Domaine de Rateau is not suitable for children under 10 years old.
Our animal friends are not accepted.

OUR ROOMS
DOMAINE de RATEAU offers five guest rooms: A Deluxe room, spacious, with large bathroom and dressing room; two Superior rooms equipped with their own bathroom with shower, sink and toilet; and two Junior rooms sharing a large bathroom on the landing, ideal for children (from 10 years old) or teenagers accompanying their parents. Tastefully renovated, these rooms maintain the charm of the old and offer uncompromising comfort: new quality bedding, fully equipped bathrooms, wifi, personalized and neat decoration, environmentally friendly toiletries.
Reservation two nights minimum.
OUR SERVICES
Breakfast
The gourmet breakfast is served in the dining room or on the terrace. Homemade bread and cakes, fresh fruit juice, homemade jams, fresh fruit salads or seasonal compote... to start your day gently!
The gourmet aperitif
Assortment of local products: charcuterie, cheese, crunchy vegetables, olives... Served with a bottle of red or white Bordeaux. Enjoy it close to the swimming pool!

The park
The two hectares of the Domaine de Rateau park are a haven of peace. You can rest there, in the shade of its hundred-year-old trees, lulled by the songs of birds.

The swimming pool
The large swimming pool, 7x15 m, welcomes you in summer. In the shade of the pergola or parasols, you can be served cold drinks or gourmet aperitifs.

Visit of the vineyards
Saint Emilion and its prestigious vineyard is a few kilometers away, Fronsac barely further; and many are the châteaux, small or large, which welcome visitors for tastings and visits. Emmanuelle can advise you.
Tendonitis and capsulitis
Turn your stay into a health parenthesis, with a 3-day retreat: Fabien Claude-Storz, osteopath DO, in Guitres, offers a special approach for people suffering from adhesive capsulitis, tendonitis or chronic shoulder pain.

Churches (and in particular the extraordinary monolithic church dug into the rock over the centuries), cloisters, charming alleys... Canoe and paddle
Five minutes below Domaine de Rateau, flows the river L'Isle, where you can rent canoes and paddles, activities appreciated by young and old.
